Herb Bridges.

Herb Bridges has long been associated with Gone With The Wind. As everyone knows he once had a huge GWTW collection.

But his interest does not stop with that one movie, he has a fascination for all old movies and when he lucked into buying a collection of movie posters his interest only grew.  Now, thanks to Georgia PBS we are able to view some of the posters and they are real treasures.

Back when these posters were made they were hand-painted. As he pointed out in the interview there were no “re-runs” so there was no need to mass-produce the posters, so each one has its own individual character.

We love getting your comments on this blog so please feel free to leave comments– unless they are mean-spirited, which in that case they will be deleted. These articles are meant for the enjoyment of GWTW fans and it is not an open forum for negative posts. The author writes about current topics relating to GWTW, new books that come out, events that are taking place and anything else GWTW. Thanks very much for reading.
